Personal Protective Equipment
Responsible businesses should do all that they can to protect the health and welfare of their employees and reduce any risks to an acceptable level.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is an effective measure which should be used to protect employees who are exposed to risks that cannot be eliminated or controlled by other means. Of course, your priority should be to minimise the risk wherever possible. You should therefore consider PPE as an interim measure or, as a last resort, until you can implement other means of controlling the risk. In some cases, PPE will be essential and must then be used by all employees whose health and safety are at risk.
